Maybe it was the long Icelandic summer days that inspired a group of friends to combine their passion for the sounds of Jamaica with the sounds of their homeland to create a unique blend of warm, old school reggae, sung entirely in Icelandic. It’s clear that they’ve struck the right chord, since forming 2004, they’ve become one of the most popular bands in their home-country. With four awarding winning albums under their belt and a brand new one as well, Hjalmar’s journey has taken them from Keflavik, a small town near the international airport, to Kingston.
